*Waking up and hearing the drops of rain outside my window
*Seeing a bunch of colorful flowers and the smell of Spring arriving
*Noticing a couple in love and the joy it brings
*Starring at the sky and the twinkling stars
*Skipping down the street
*Smiles exchanged with strangers
*Learning from older and wiser people
*Looking into someone's eyes and really seeing their soul
*Ginger tea, with lemon, cinnamon and raw honey
*The synchronicity that occurs in everyday
*Long walks in the forest and feeling nurtured
*The ocean breeze, the endless movement, the blue vastness
Some poems I wrote during my Yoga TT:
Tiny Tree
This tiny tree speaks to me
It seems so small and slender
But it is strong
Held in by its roots
Yet flexible and moving with the breeze
It keeps balancing itself left to right, right to left, always back to center
even while the breeze keeps attempting to play
Atmosphere
Drawing a fine line between love and hate
in my mind they can sometimes be intertwined
this chaotic mess
which we call our world
spins daily on its axis
we are leading our lives into constant excess
keeping us trapped
in a small atmosphere
keeping us growing with fear
see the truth which lies within
from your heart you can grow out of the fear
into a more expansive atmosphere
Protected by the shade of love
This tiny raisin was being sucked dry of its original purity
it was dying of thirst
the suns rays continually penetrated
into its contours
forming deeper marks
within its existence
it longed to return
to its whole natural state
round, lush, smooth
with its interior beauty matching its exterior
to be hanging from a lush sturdy vine
protected by the shade of its love
Soul of a child
The first time I noticed you
I saw within you the soul of a child
one that I could relate to
one that you did not want to let go of
and neither did I
but the adult stepped in and protected the inner child
the one who gives, loves, and accepts freely
